The New York Post tells a humorous tale of a woman that was assaulted for smoking.
I was walking down Sixth Avenue when a very small woman came barreling across in front of me. She made it look like she was adjusting her backpack, but she reached up and hit me in the arm - hard, with a closed fist. While not all anti-smoking nazis are violent like this woman, she does personify the entire anti-smoking movement. At least this nut case has the gall to do her own fighting. Most anti-smokers vote to use the police power of the state to enforce their wacky beliefs.Stunned and with an aching arm, I quickly walked after her. She turned around, saw my angry face hovering a foot above her, and blurted: "Oh, you want to . . . uh, uh, your god-damn cancer stick."
Right there she admitted that she'd assaulted my body because I was smoking.
... She grabbed her cell phone from her backpack and said she'd call 911. "Good," I said, taking a step closer. "You just assaulted me, and that's illegal. Smoking on the street is not."
At that point, she stepped three feet backward and started kicking at me, coming nowhere near my body.
So, here I am in Midtown, with this weirdo dancing around flailing and kicking at me like a raving lunatic - because of a cigarette.
I would've put my cigarette out on her face.
I'm serious!
Here in the south, tobacco is a vegetable and that bitch would have gotten her ass kicked... smack her down and shotgun her with a Marlboro...

Sad, stupid people they are. Eventually, when my reckoning comes, they will see why smoking is bad for your health.
If the drugs don't hurt you, I just might.

INTENTIONALLY INGESTING POISONS IS AN ACT OF ATTEMPTED SUICIDE AND SHOULD THUS BE PROHIBITED BY LAW>

First of all, the smoker commited no crime. Even had they been breaking the law, battery on a person is not an acceptable reaction to witnessing a crime when no one's life is in immediate danger. If I see someone parking illegally, I am not allowed to punch them in the nose; and the fact that they may be breaking the law, would give me no justification to do so.
Second, a simple assault on someone can easily lead to an escalation of violence. Lets assume for a moment that I smoke, and say this had happened to me one Saturday while I'm walking around my town. Since I regularly (and quite legally) carry a loaded pistol, my first reaction to such an assault would be to pull out my gun and place the person under citizens arrest. Further battery and threats to my person could escalate the unfortunate circumstance of me having to use my gun in legally justifiable self defense. In any case I'm calling the police and having them charged for assault and battery. Legally speaking, I would be fully justified for doing so, no matter what the assailant's "moral" motive.
Third, as I stated initially the smoker had broken no laws. Your advocacy for such laws is indeed shocking. While there are negative health effects connected to smoking, it can hardly be considered suicide. Smoking is a leisure activity that carries with it certain risks. A smoker's risk of dying from smoking is similar to the risk a mountain climber assumes when climbing Pike's Peak. Change that Mt. Everest, and the climber actually has a much greater chance at dying than our smoking friend. Should we outlaw mountain climing? How about SCUBA diving, bungee jumping or driving in heavy traffic? All of which carry certain "unnecessary" risks.
The fact is that smokers are harming no one except themselves and the ones they love. A smoker walking by you on the street is doing you no harm, unless of course you consider the worry and grief caused to smoke nazis such as yourself.

I suspect assault and battery is worse for your health than smoking. It increases the risks of being sent to prison, which is not good for your health. I'm worried about this suicidal tendency of yours. :)
Many of us use firearms on a regular basis. I'm sure you can find (badly done) statisitics showing that it is a significant health risk to us. Care to beat us up for it? Your health risk just went up again! :)
Better see a doctor, quick.
BTW, have you considered that you might not be advocating positions consistent with the spirit of liberty which brought this republic to birth? Don't tread on me.
Yours,
Wince
