Child Beater Walks

Remember Madelyne Toogood? She was the woman who was taped viscously beating her daughter back in September. The beating included punches to the face of the infant child who was strapped in a child seat.

Well, USA Today reports today that she got a pass. She walked with a one year suspended sentence, a year probation, and a $500 fine.

As if that isn't bad enough, she claims to be the victim. "I've pretty much been crucified by everything that's happened," Toogood said. "I don't know if my life will ever be the same. I've been persecuted by the press."

That sickened me when I saw it... She should not be around children, much less raising one.

What the hell is this woman doing out of jail? Why is she able to regain custody of the child? Why is the prosecutor satisfied with the sentence?

I'd like to see the perpetrator do a couple years hard time.

I dunno. You could take some pictures of me and my son when we're wrestling or playing football and make me look like a child abuser. I don't agree at all with what the woman did, but was it REALLY bad enough for the government to get involved?

Must notta been. They sure dropped the case like a hot rock when it went to court.

I'm sorry, but I just don't trust the government. I would rather be slapped by my mama than by Uncle Sam.

Well, I saw the video and she was clearly not 'wrestling' that child, nor was it normal discipline. We are talking about a toddler, strapped into a child seat. The video showed the woman punching the child several times in the face with a closed fist.

As for the D.A., it had a lot to do with the election. The previous D.A. was prepared to throw the book at her. That D.A. lost election, and the new D.A. came in and made a plea bargain. While I don't know the political leanings of either D.A., I have a good guess, considering the former was tough on crime, while the latter seems to be a creampuff.

By the way, Steve... I may need a trustworthy neutral bystander in an upcoming blog-duel THAT I DID NOT START. In fact, once I accepted the challenge, my surly opponent IMMEDIATELY started to postpone the confrontation, the bitch.

The fight doesn't worry me. THE JUDGES do. I think all but 1 and 1/2 of them have French roots. They may look at this as an Olympic figure-skating contest and just do what the French do. You know...CHEAT!

Wanna be a WEAPONS INSPECTOR? Just stand on the sidelines and watch, that's all I ask. You judge the weapons and call it as you see it.

Interested?

Acidman, I keep telling ya....I wanna watch this fight play out.

I can't believe that child abusers get off so easily.....This pisses me off to no end. I see too many kids in the hospital with NAT (non-accidental traumas) to NOT get pissed. And, often, the kids eventually end up back with the same stupid people
