BERLIN - A man armed with a pistol hijacked a bus in the northern German city of Bremen on Friday and took about 15 people as hostages, police said.

After all, Germany has some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the world. How could this possibly be true? Why, if this report were true, it could be held up as evidence that gun control doesn't work.

Everyone knows that disarming law abiding citizens is the best way to fight crime.
