Just in case you were running out of reasons to hate the French, the Washington Times reports that America has asked France for help in Iraq, and they've declined. At issue is the political control of the situation. France wants the U.N. to have total political control.
Of course, usually when we helped France out, it was the Nazis or the Communists that had political control, and the French were standing their with their hands in the air.

Well, France definitely helped us out when we were yearning for independence from the Brits. And more recently, there was news that Poland is pulling its troops out from combat in the 'high-risk' area near Baghdad, in response to that U.N. bombing. India also earlier refused to send troops, which the Pentagon may have been counting on; that country opposed the war as well. And Spain, which was supposed to be our ally in this war, may be pulling out as well - hmmm..., one of their soldiers is killed, and the pressure mounts?
As I heard someone remark the other day, "So much for 'the coalition..."
