Last month, we heard about Harley "Bill" Walker, who was cited for interfering with police duties when he flashed his lights to encourage oncoming motorists to slow down. It seems as though the police did not want Walker encouraging people to stop breaking the law, because it put a dent in their quotas. Walker has had is day in court, and lost. The presiding judge agreed that Walker was guilty of interfering with police duties and fined him $10. (Plus $65 in "court costs".)
Well apparently Walker didn't let it rest, and appealed the decision. It cost him about a $1000 to prove his innocence, but he prevailed and the appellate judge agreed that arresting someone for turning on their headlights violated his First Amendment protections.
