Canada is figuring out what we already know; that tougher gun laws don't mean less crime. Gary Mauser, author of the paper and professor of business at Simon Fraser University, comes to this conclusion:
"It is an illusion that gun bans protect the public. No law, no matter how restrictive, can protect us from people who decide to commit violent crimes. Maybe we should crack down on criminals rather than hunters and target shooters?"One of these days, Mauser will realize that it's about controlling people, not crime.
reminds me of the old Robin Williams line:
"They took the guns away from the cops... so now when they see a criminal, they say 'stop... or I shall say STOP agaaain!"
He was referring to England's policy of gun control, but it's still applicable.
