Just a quick update on Geuda Springs, Kansas, where city lawmakers passed mandatory ownership and maintenance of firearms. Their idiot mayor vetoed it, much to the chagrin of GOA.
I heard the scumsucking mayor in a radio news article on my way to my CJ class,(which is in Ark City,) with his reasoning on why they should not have the bill in place. Station was KFDI, time was 10:00 AM Central and the date was Tuesday December 2. This isn't exactly word for word but it should be very close.
"This ordnance would require everyone to have a gun. We have a lot of elderly people in town and I don't know about you but I don't want no 90-year-old to be armed."
Yes, he specifically used the elderly and their preconceived incompetency as a argument for his tossing out the law. My thoughts are that if a 90 year old can drive surely he can be armed.
The question is, where is the AARP?
Although I don't agree with his reasons, I agree with the veto.
I don't think people should be coerced by the State into owning ANYTHING -- not even a gun.
