World Net Daily reports that a communist museum in Vietnam has an exhibit honoring the presumptive Democrat nominee for President, John Kerry. The exhibit resides in a section of the museum honoring anti-war protestors, and shows a photo of Kerry meeting with the general secretary of the Communist Party, Comrade Do Muoi.
[Jeffrey M. Epstein of Vietnam Vets for the Truth] said the display photograph's "unquestionable significance lies in its placement in the American protesters' section of the War Crimes Museum" in Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon.I'm not saying that Hanoi John is a communist himself, but if you judge a man by the company he keeps, this doesn't bode well."The Vietnamese communists clearly recognize John Kerry's contributions to their victory," he said. "This find can be compared to the discovery of a painting of Neville Chamberlain hanging in a place of honor in Hitler's Eagle's Nest in 1945."
Steve - its this kind of shit right here that makes me ashamed to show up on your pages and why I have begged you - to no avail - to remove my bio and links from your site.
A rudimentary check would have showed you the picture in question was from 1993 when McCain and Kerry sought to normalize relations with Vietnam.
But I'm sure you know this. As someone you call a friend, I can assure your readers that you are a liar, an exaggerator and a pathetic malcontent. I, sole among all the strangers that come and go here, should know.
I'm no fan of Kerry but I wouldn't suggest he is a Communist. For better or worse, he served his country and did his duty. What have you done for America? Take me off your site IMMEDIATELY or I'll spend the $15 on a site showing the world just what it is you do for America.
Posted by: Lope at June 5, 2004 2:39 AMI explicitly said Kerry was not a Communist. I'll even bet he made a similar ultimatum to the Communist museum to remove himself from their walls.
Ironic isn't it. You say that Kerry should not be judged by the presence of his photo in a red museum, but you are ashamed of having your photo associated with this site. What does that say about me?
I will honor your request because I tremble at the thought of once again being the butt of your jokes. I know full well that I am no match for your razor sharp wit, and had you the $15, you would show me no mercy.
As for my contributions to society, I have made none. You are right to insinuate that I have made no impact on the world. Being too young for Gulf War I and too old for Gulf War II, I have never put myself in jeopardy in the service of my country. I met with an Army recruiter once, and he actually talked me out of joining up. (Those were the Clinton years though.)
You're right, the world would probably be better off without me. All they would miss would be my paltry donations to charity, my giving blood every 8 weeks, and the 40% of my meager income that they take every year. Que sera sera.
