Has Kerry completely written off the South?
"It comes as little surprise that the Kerry campaign has given up on their short-lived southern strategy. It was, no doubt, cancelled due to lack of interest," said U.S. Sen. John Cornyn. "Their decision to fold their tent makes perfect sense: Even with a southerner on the ticket, the Kerry-Edwards campaign simply can't shed their liberal, elitist, out-of-touch image.I think Cornyn is over-confident.
John Cornyn is used to being a big frog in a medium sized pond (Texas). Now that he has replaced Phil Gramm, he is finding out his utterings are no longer being ignored. He means well, but needs to keep his mouth closed so as to not remove all doubt.
