Kerry's campaigning has gotten off to a rough start, reports the New York Post. Senator Ketchup apparently received a cold reception from some Marines he tried to exploit during a campaign stop.
Kerry was treating running mate Sen. John Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, to a Wendy's lunch in Newburgh, N.Y., for their 27th wedding anniversary - an Edwards family tradition - when the candidate approached four Marines and asked them questions.Kudos to them for not letting themselves be turned into a photo-op for an anti-military candidate. Back when Kerry actually participated in Senate votes, he voted against every major military weapons system on the docket. More recently Kerry voted to send troops to war, but then flip-flopped and voted against providing them with the tools and equipment necessary to do their job.The Marines - two in uniform and two off-duty - were polite but curt while chatting with Kerry, answering most of his questions with a "yes, sir" or "no, sir."
But they turned downright nasty after the Massachusetts senator thanked them "for their service" and left.
Anti-military? How do you justify a baseless, off the wall comment like that? Methinks that perhaps your hatred of Kerry has blinded you to reality. If Kerry can fairly be described as anti-military, then Bush can also fairly be characterized as an ignoramus. Neither is true, but that apparently doesn't stop people from tossing those charges lightly around.

Are you being facetious? No? Well, you asked for it:
1- Kerry came back from Vietnam and testified under oath - making accusations that he and his fellow servicemen were committing war crimes. His testimony (and the testimony of others) was used to demoralize our troops fighting in Vietnam.
2 - Kerry have voted against every major weapon system in use today. He voted to cut or block funding for the following: Patriot missile system, Tomahawk cruise missile, B-2 stealth bomber, Apache helicopter, M-1 Abrams tank, and several fighter jet programs.
3 - Kerry tossed/didn't toss his/someone elses medals/ribbons over the White House fence.
4 - Kerry voted to send our troops into combat, and then voted against providing them with equipment.
5 - Kerry used the Abu Gharib prison abuse scandal to raise campaign cash.
6 - Kerry exploits his Vietnam service record for political gain. There are serious doubts as to the validity of his purple hearts. To me, it looks like he was using band-aid injuries to get out early.
7 - Kerry routinely criticized Bush for serving in the Air National Guard, which in and of itself trivializes and slanders the hard working men and women of our National Guard.
8 - Kerry's anti-war crusade dates back as far as 1966, prior to his military service. It's very telling about his attitudes toward the Vietnam war, regardless of whether or not he wore a uniform.
