I haven't watched much of the RNCC, but I just caught my former Senator, Zell Miller's speech on Fox. The only thing I can say about it is HOLY SHIT. He certainly doesn't look like a guy that's just out to sell a book.
"For more than 20 years, on every one of the great issues of freedom and security, John Kerry has been more wrong, more weak and more wobbly than any other national figure," Miller said. "As a war protester, Kerry blamed our military. As a senator, he voted to weaken our military."Cheney summed it up best when he came on after Zell and said: "I'm sure glad Zell Miller is on our side."Miller, D-Ga., said Kerry had voted to cut key weapon systems. "This is a man who wants to be the commander in chief of our U.S. armed forces? U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs?" Miller said. [...]
"Kerry would let Paris decide when America needs defending. I want Bush to decide," Miller said.
Miller, a former Marine, also accused the Democrats of putting soldiers in danger just to get at Bush.
"While young Americans are dying in the sands of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, our nation is being torn apart and made weaker because of the Democrats' manic obsession to bring down our commander in chief," he said.
I thought he was great!
Just goes to show that it doesn't matter your political affiliation, national security IS important...and you have to go for the candidate who's willing to kick ass to keep you and yours safe.

Posted by: Kano at September 5, 2004 12:16 PMDear Kano: There's a difference between an election and a lynching. Lincoln ran for reelction during the Civil War in 1864, and a lot of Democrats said a lot of bad things about him, but unlike today, they did not try to destroy him personally. In the end Lincoln won, and so will George W. Bush. The Democrats are just getting too wacky.
