With former Clinton campaigners and CNN talk show hosts Paul Begala and James Carville working for the Kerry campaign I cannot help but think Kerry is being sabatoged to make room for Hillary 2008.
With October approaching, I also wonder what sort of 'October Surprise' is in store.
Hmmn, well I've got a theory on that. It may just be tinfoilhattery, but here goes;
Have you noticed that John Edwards has been laying low, as of late? Haven't seen much of him on TV, despite endless pictures of Lurch stumbling around.
I'd like to be the first (perhaps the first) to suppose that the "October Surprise" is to have Kerry suddenly become ill, necessitating his running mate take over the top spot. I wouldn't put it past the dems to pull a "Toricelli" this late in the race, given their penchant for last-minute hail o' mary plays.
A faked fall of his wind-surfer, mountain biking, snowboarding (whoops, that one already happened) or perhaps the cold he has taking a turn for the worst, it wouldn't take much. Hell, maybe they could even blame it on a "sudden Vietnam flashback" making him mentally unstable.
Then the dems just inject Johnny Jr. into the top slot, to put a fresh face on the campaign. This relates to Edwards' media absence, every time either of the dem candidates show up, they put their foot in their mouths. Why not make the public "forget" Edwards for a month and then trot him out in October to see if they can inject new life in their stillborn campaign?
Just a theory...

Makes you think, eh?
Posted by: Big Time Patriot at September 29, 2004 1:54 AMThe Clinton's plan was always to run Hillary in '08. Of course, they figured she'd be following 8 years of Gore. I think it's already to late to pull a candidate switch in a lot of states.

Fifty percent hate the other fifty percent. We are due for more terrorism, and the response to that is going to cost a lot, in lives and money. I am not looking forward to the next four years. I will vote for Bush, but understand, if Kerry wins, it makes things tougher for Hillary. She might have to wait until 2012. Lots will have happened by then, and her chances become longer. That's the ONLY bright side I can see in a Kerry victory.
