Call it media bias or just a cheap shot, check out this line from MSNBC's synopsis of the reality show, Survivor Vanuato, which concluded last night.
Liars win and losers reward the liars.I guess they are trying to say that Bush was a better liar than Kerry. But if that were true, wouldn't we be saying President-elect Sharpton?Of course, having just finished an election cycle, most of the United States of America knows this well. We like to be lied to.
I'm reading Sowell's The Vision of the Annointed: Self-Congratulations as a Basis for Social Policy. What you have just illustrated here is his point in Chapter 3: Only data that supports the Vision of the Annointed (the American voting public loves and rewards liars - therefore Bush was victor) is considered valid. Any data that contradicts this vision - e.g.: Sharpton is a far more skilled and consummate liar - is clearly irrelevant.
