Last year the Washington D.C. summer jobs program employed 5,000 young people (age 14 to 21). The problem is that 9,000 people submitted an application. This year D.C. lawmakers are proposing to hire everyone that applies.
Since this is a taxpayer funded program, the city should hire the yutes as personal assistants to those that pay the most city taxes.
