Officials and pundits are surprised that more and more women are taking up arms.
That reminds me, it's been a while so here is my obligatory link to an article by the Independent Women's Forum on disarming women. This should be required reading for all women.
Like I said years ago, the article makes several key points:
Besides, wearing a pistol makes you look thinner. Ladies, just ask any man, "Does this gun make me look fat?"
You glossed over part of the martial arts angle. An expert female can equal an untrained male. A minimally trained female has no chance against any male, and an expertly trained female has no chance against a minimally trained male.
Martial arts is an edge that and shift a close fight, but it doesn't repeal the law of the jungle. Firearms do.
Posted by: Phelps at March 17, 2005 10:43 PMIt also assumes a one on one fight. A lot of good martial arts do when there are two or three of them.
Posted by: Ravenwood at March 18, 2005 7:22 AMPeople tend to view martial arts exactly the way they are portrayed in the movies, much like guns.
Martial arts will allow you to take on a whole room of attackers, many with weapons, and you never have to kill a man in a gunfight since you can always just shoot the gun out of his hands.
Hell, I took 2 quarters of karate in college and I am a gun owner. That must make me a big-time lethal weapon.
Posted by: roger at March 18, 2005 8:55 AMROTFL- "Does this dress make me look fat?" is haardous to answer, but change "dress" to "gun"...
Fellas, just remember what any lawyer will tell you about testifying in court. Answer only the question asked, and if you have any more to say about related subjects, keep it to yourself. "No, it doesn't make you look fat." (It's the fat that makes you look fat.)

I was wondering if anyone read down far enough to read my joke. I thought that was the best part.
