I had to throw the bullshit flag on this one found over at Dustbury.
With more than 30 million registered text users sending more than 30 billion text messages each month...By the U.S. definition of Billion (a thousand million), 30 Million people sending 30 Billion messages a month works out to 1,000 messages EACH, per month, on average. That means the average SMS user would send more than 30 messages per day.
I don't think I send that many emails per day.

I think the best I've done is 8 messages in one month.
Posted by: DaveJ at April 18, 2005 10:54 PMYou ain't met my new girlfriend there buddy. This lady can easily send that many just to me in 8 hours. It's after work that she gets real busy with that damn phone.

Posted by: markm at April 19, 2005 8:04 AMHave you ever watched a teen or early 20's oerson? They talk on their cell phones more than that in one day, and will send messages nonstop if given the chance. Some people can't go more than a few minutes alone without babbling to someone about something.
Posted by: Robert Garrard at April 19, 2005 11:33 AMYeah, but we are talking averages here. For every user that sends just one message a day, there has to be a teenie bopper sending out 2000 to pull up the slack.
Posted by: Ravenwood at April 19, 2005 2:32 PMI thought I was on the high-end of the texting thing, and I probably send about 200+ texts a month. Actually had close to 300 last month. You're right Steve, these numbers are way off. I don't know anyone who texts as much as I do.
