One night when I was a young boy, I was doing my chores and helping with the dishes after supper. I went to place a sharp knife into the dishwasher, and it slipped from my hand. Instead of jumping back, I made the mistake of trying to catch it. I did, and ended up stabbing myself in the index finger. I still have the scar from the stitches.
This off duty police officer could have learned from my mistake.
A police spokesman says an off-duty officer was at a San Antonio auto auction house Wednesday when nature called.Modern day guns don't just 'go off'. Had Officer Clancy simply let it fall instead of grabbing for it and hitting the trigger, he would have been better off.Officer Craig Clancy strolled to the appropriate facility and was lowering his trousers when his pistol fell from his waistband. When Clancy fumbled for the falling firearm, it went off - twice.
One of the bullets nicked a bit of floor tile into the leg of a man who was washing his hands nearby.
Yeah, but twice??? Let's see ... there hasn't been a revolver made in 2 or 3 decades without a transfer bar gizmo on the firing pin, so they're ruled out. 1911s have a grip saftey as well as a thumb safety, so they're out. What kind of dangerous, unsafe weapon was officer Einstein carrying anyway? Just want to know so I never make the mistake of buying one. Either that or we're dealing with a BS cover-up story.

Anything with a working safety shouldn't have gone off TWICE, unless there was no safety on, and he managed to pull the trigger twice while fumbling. Thank god he didn't drop a fully automatic weapon....
