Ace of Spades reports that the FEC is trying to make it illegal for people to blog at work. You may have thought that weblogging was just expressing your opinions online. But the FEC considers it political speech that they're allowed to regulate. (Because McCain-Feingold trumps the First Amendment.)
More than that and you could be subject to a legal complaint -- the complaint being the coporation, through you, is making illegal in-kind donations to a political party, because, I guess, the coproration is faciliating your expression of your opinions by providing you with a job and a computer. If this catches on, look for weblog timestamps to disappear. And maybe even legal pads and post-its, if you write longhand before posting.

Taking theat stupid timestamp out of the template was probably the third thing I did once I set my blog up.
I've seen some folks posting how they blogged on a story 1 minute and 16 seconds before Drudge or Glenn had it up on their pages.
Oooooh...I'm so impressed.

Setting a first party against a second is the classic maneuver; creating a prisoner's dilemma is the standard statist play.
Whatever.
