To our friends in England, you are in our hearts and prayers.
In case you missed the statement from Tony Blair:
. . .It is important, however, that those engaged in terrorism realise that our determination to defend our values and our way of life is greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent people in a desire to impose extremism on the world. Whatever they do, it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country, and in other civilised nations throughout the world. . .

The Brits ought to let their citizens arm themselves. Unfortunately, the liberal weanies there will not allow that.
Posted by: Lornkanaga at July 7, 2005 8:24 AMUgh, what an awful picture. On the one hand, I am saddened and touched by the obvious concern and sorrow of the man trying to comfot the woman. As well as by trying to imagine what that poor woman must be going through, and what she might still face in the future. She has her little suit, her handbag, a ring on her finger - she could be anybody's mom. I imagine her waking up in the morning, choosing her outfit, fixing her hair, heading into town for work or errands or whatever, and now look at her. Good God. I hope she is okay, whoever she is.
But then on the other hand, I cannot help but feel anger and disgust with those who continue to insist that there is no terrorist threat, it's all made up to make more money for Halliburton, the US is the real terror state, blah blah blah. When the fuck are these people gonna wake UP??? A co-worker of mine, an actual real human person, still insists to me that the September 11th hijackers were "just a bunch of random guys." Al Qaeda does not exist, Bin Laden is a scapegoat or bogeyman, these highly coordinated and well-planned attacks are actually NOT coordinated and planned, they are just some local dudes who decide one morning, "hey let's blow some shit up!"
This person is a fool. It is just a matter of time before it happens here, my friends, and in our hearts I think we all know that. Sad to say.
Posted by: daltec at July 7, 2005 8:39 AMCurrently 33 dead, 'hundreds' injured - many not expected to survive.
Death to these motherfuckers, whenever and wherever found, and their families, children, parents, dogs, cats and even the bugs in the soil.
No surrender, No understanding, No forgivness EVER.
To add insult to this tragedy, Read what Gearge Galloway had to say about the bombings.
"We have worked without rest to remove the causes of such violence from our world. We argued, as did the security services in this country, that the attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq would increase the threat of terrorist attack in Britain. Tragically Londoners have now paid the price of the government ignoring such warnings.
We urge the government to remove people in this country from harms way, as the Spanish government acted to remove its people from harm, by ending the occupation of Iraq and by turning its full attention to the development of a real solution to the wider conflicts in the Middle East."

Most of the "violence" Galloway is ranting about was done by Americans, not Brits. They left us alone and attacked the Brits. So maybe the Brits just have to be more violent, like us...
Posted by: markm at July 7, 2005 4:26 PMWhat kills me is they way they tally the damage. From what I've read, the "100s injured" includes people who had to have amputations because of the attack. It seems unfair to lump people who lost the use of limb(s) in with people who had scrapes and bruises.
