Earth to D.C.: You aren't a state

He's not just a mayor, he's a publicity whore.

Washington D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams wants a little respect - from ESPN.

Williams feels the nation's capital is getting dissed by the cable sports network. ESPN is doing a series called "50 States-50 Days" about sporting events around the country. D.C. isn't on the list.

Guam and Puerto Rico could not be reached for comment.

During the time that Williams' office drafted and crafted its outrage, x D.C. citizens died in the streets as a result of mostly unchecked violence.

DC is a hostile, corrupt, third-world nation. Methinks US troops should invade; military rule/marshal law for three or four years might help restore order.

Of course, arming the law-abiding citizens wouldn't hurt either.

[apologies to ravenwood; it's just that whenever you mention dc, for some reason I just go off--sigh]

Well, wouldn't ESPN cover that when they report on Maryland and Virginia?

Lornkanaga: Same here. I'd think that anyone who's been around DC much would have the same reaction, unless they are utterly blinded to reality by liberal doctrines, or are government workers or politicians who have seen so many gubmint outrages that they no longer honestly react to anything.
