You have no chance to survive, make your time

Apparently civil rights mean nothing in New Orleans. I never thought I would see the day when agents of the government would go door to door confiscating firearms, forcibly removing people from their homes, and body slamming elderly women. (Video: 2.9MB)

Typically, I wholeheartedly support the police and the military. They do a tough job and are usually stuck between a rock and a hard place. But I would personally rather go to Leavenworth than blindly carry out these orders against the American citizenry.

TThere is nothing "typical" about the police in New Orleans. A goodly number of them are just crooks who think they have it made-their badge gives them the authority to intiumidate the citizens of the city. The are of course great cops there too, but the overall state of criminality of the police force has been known by the residents for several decades. THIS is often why the people who have stayed have done so--they fear that if they leave, their houses will be ravaged by the police and they willk have nothing to come home to. Sadly, in many cases, they are probably right.
I WISH I could believe that the voters would vote in competent government. They probably never will. Firstly, they do not have much to choose from usually. Secondly, you would have to grow up with these people to truly understand the level of IQ that exists in this city--and ponder how it is possible that it is so low.. And those that are not just out out and stupid are often simply too uneducated to make wise decisions on such important matters as who to vote for.
Some of that supposedly "killer water" should be so lucky to splash on the mayor-ah well, that is only a dream, -- because the water would not harm him. Yes it is especially polluted rigt now, but there is nothing in the water now that New Orleanians have not been dealing in for decades.
My favorite is the one and only statement the city attorney has made to justify why people should leave--that being because there is broken glass allk over the road and people wikk get flat tires if they drive around the city. It occurs to me that if the water REALLY was as dangerous as the city officals are encouraging the media to blabber about, that the City Attorney, MIGHT have MENTIONED it in her statement. But know the REAL thing the residents should fear is flat tires. C'mon, even the stupid people in the city are not THAT stupid!

We are mostly in agreement, but, in fairness to the police, that tape was very badly edited. We do not see what this woman did to provoke a response from this officer, or what steps the officer took before resorting to the final level of force that we saw.

I'd like to see the whole sequence before I condemn this guy.
