Geez, now the antis are faulting President Bush for having to tinkle.
A photographer has snapped United States President George W Bush apparently writing a note to ask whether a toilet break is possible during a United Nations meeting.Bush detractors are saying that he makes the U.S. look foolish in front of the U.N.. And wouldn't that be a shame. Lets not lose face with a band of thugs and criminals who mismanaged Saddam Hussein, and participated in one of the largest embezzlement schemes in World History. Meanwhile, Reuters is claiming that the photo wasn't malicious. This is the same Reuters who just two days ago ran this photo of Bush nominee John Roberts.Mr Bush is said to have written the note to his Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice.
"I think I may need a bathroom break? Is this possible?" a Reuters news agency photographer caught him writing during a UN summit.
UPDATE: Apparently the handwriting doesn't match the President's. Will we ever get to the bottom of what is being dubbed Tinklegate? Is Dan Rather forging cocktail napkins? Bill Burkett please call your office.

Isn't George W. Bush left handed? I know his father is a left, what about W? This photo looks staged.
Posted by: John at September 16, 2005 8:47 AMSorry George H W Bush is a lefty, not a left.
Posted by: John at September 16, 2005 8:47 AMCan anyone blame the man for wanting to take a leak after a marathon meeting?
Heck, his poll numbers would have jumped through the roof if he just whipped it out there and actually took a leak on the UN.
I'm more concerned that photographers are able to zoom in on the president's paperwork as he is in a UN meeting, to be honest.
Posted by: MikeA at September 16, 2005 11:18 AMI read somewhere (aha--found the link--http://dougie-pundit.blogspot.com/2005/09/potus-has-to-pee-look-again.html) that it was actually Condi who needed to go--check out the handwriting; the writing above is very different from the writing below.

Reuters shoots itself in the foot again.

Posted by: screaming eagle at September 16, 2005 6:54 PMThe Al-reuters photographer who took this picture needs to wake up in a dumpster with half his teeth missing and his nose broken. In a country this size, we must have at least one competent CIA agent.

Where were these same journailsist when clinton held up trafic at airport to have a haircut?
Posted by: screaming eagle at September 17, 2005 10:05 AMI even though the linked blog said that Bush did indeed go to the rest room I still find the whole thing odd. Who writes both in cursive and in print when they ass notes along? I know no one and find it abnormal behavior. (Not that we have a normal president, he doesn't cheat on his wife.)
Very astute detective work on the bloggers' part. He is indeed right about matching up the handwriting samples. The I's tell a story and so do the connected "is" in both the sample and the note. The top of the note looks too suspicious to me though for him to be asking for a restroom break. I wonder if it was photoshopped.

Posted by: Kristopher at September 19, 2005 1:38 PMFrankly, more than five minutes in the company of the UN and I would want to use the bathroom too.
First to throw up and second to wipe up all the bullshit clinging to my clothes.
