An Oregon lottery winner could end up losing, after it was alleged that she purchased the winning ticket with a stolen credit card.
Christina Goodenow, 38, of White City in southern Oregon faced numerous theft-related charges, forgery and possession of methamphetamine, said authorities, who searched her home Thursday. The card belonged to a deceased relative, they said.I can't believe they let people purchase lottery tickets with a credit card. Maybe they are the ones that should be in jail.If convicted of any of the charges, Goodenow will not be able to collect prize money from the winning ticket, said police Lt. Tim George.

If they'd let them buy lottery tickets with food stamps, the program would pay for itself.
Credit cards and bank cards are often the same piece of plastic. Mine is. I do know that one function requires using the pin number (debit) and the credit function does not, but I could see businesses taking both functions by default.
Also, credit cards have always been accepted at legal casinos and I guess the government doesn't see a reason to hurt their own profits by being different.
Overall, I don't think the government should be in the business of promoting or operating gambling services, but they do and the public supports it.
That's very strange.
As far as I can tell, you need to use cash to buy lottery tickets in Oregon.
If you pony up plastic, the store will make you draw cash, and pay for the ticket with that.
