Of all the dumb risks I could take in my life, catapaulting a hundred feet into the air ranks right up there with do-it-yourself laser eye surgery.
A UNIVERSITY student died after being hurled 100ft through the air by a medieval-style "trebuchet" catapult, an inquest heard yesterday. The incident actually took place a few years ago. The court threw out manslaughter charges against the builders of the trebuchet due to "lack of evidence" which sounds like a legalese way of saying that the dumbass knew what he was getting into.Kostydin Yankov, 19, an Oxford University student, suffered multiple injuries and serious spinal damage when he fell short of the safety net.
