San Francisco residents passed a sweeping gun ban on Tuesday. The manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition are banned, and currently owned handguns will have to be turned in for destruction. The AP notes that the only other cities in America to pass such sweeping gun bans are Washington D.C. and Chicago. The two cities compete annually for the Murder Capital title. The NRA plans to file suit.
San Francisco residents also passed a ban on the military.
Measure I, dubbed "College Not Combat," opposes the presence of military recruiters at public high schools and colleges. However, it would not ban the armed forces from seeking enlistees at city campuses, since that would put schools at risk of losing federal funding. So they're banning self defense, while at the same time cutting job opportunities for young folks. Are they trying to cater to street gangs?Instead, Proposition I encourages city officials and university administrators to exclude recruiters and create scholarships and training programs that would reduce the military's appeal to young adults.

from the linked AP:
"Supervisor Chris Daly, who proposed the measure, said the victory showed that "San Francisco voters support sensible gun control.""
So, "sensible gun control" means no guns at all?

Is "sensible" the term used to describe the collective criminal element in San Francisco? If not, perhaps it should now be employed as such.

And handgun-involved crime has gone up there, each and every year since.
Tell me, does California have mandatory handgun registration?
