I caught a Jack Daniels commercial tonight. The background music was Jane Says by Jane's Addiction. Love the song, hate the booze.
As someone who's listened to Jane's Addiction since their title album came out, I'm surprised to see them hit commercial TV.
I realize that I'm one of the only people out there that feel this way, but I absolutely hate Jane Says. I actually like a good deal of Jane's Addiction, but Jane Says could possibly be the worst, most monotonous rock song ever written. Why everyone loves it so much is beyond me. The song basically needs to be shortened to 30 seconds and used as an intro to a much better song.
That said, I'm not too surprised about the commercial. Didn't Perry Farrell recently host some sort of reality show garbage for MTV (or some other crappy channel)?
Agreed on the Jack, though.

You have to at least admit that the marketing people have done their homework...
I was just in a restaurant last night (DewClaw) and the entire time I was there it was like listening to my favorite radio station in the late 80s...

It's only a matter of time before we hear the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen" used to sell mattresses at Jordan's Furniture.
