As if you needed another reason to pull your kid out of government schools, Phyllis Schlafly notes:
Two appellate courts held that parents have no right to stop offensive, privacy-invading interrogation of their own children in public schools. In a third case, the U.S. Supreme Court indicated that it is not going to do anything to protect parental rights concerning schools. Two words: vouchers.

Posted by: Francis W. Porretto at December 30, 2005 2:37 PMVouchers would solve so many problems. While I understand that liberals have to oppose vouchers because of the NEA lobby being in their pocket, it is decidedly illiberal, in the classic sense of liberal, to not support school vouchers. It gives "choice", injects healthy competition into the stale and lazy public school system and, by far, will help minorities and disadvantaged more than anyone. You can bet the same liberals who oppose school choice send their kids to private schools. Anyone who loves their kids AND can afford it would do so. Vouchers would give poor parents the chance to do so also. Slamdunk.

Posted by: sandpiper at December 31, 2005 10:10 AMOf course opposing vouchers is illiberal. The word liberal has been twisted beyond all recognition from it's correct meaning.
