For those that are asking, no I'm not back. Not in full capacity anyway, and I may never be. Posting to this blog will be strictly random and VERY light.
I'll be kinda like an ex-smoker who sneaks a puff in every now and then.
Also, keeping myself mired in politics on a daily basis was depressing. My outlook on life is so much better now. Fresher. Renewed. I want to keep it that way.
There is still a lot out there that makes me shake my head, and I'll occasionally post about it here. But I'm tired of being a curmudgeon all of the time. I want to smile more. And I want to have a life that's not tied to the interweb.
And once again, I want to offer a big 'thank you' to all my loyal readers over the years. It's really the readers who make the blog.
I know exactly what you mean. I blogged for the better part of a year knowing that it would eventually be more a chore than a pleasure. As soon as I felt like I was hitting that point, I bailed.
Glad your life is on the up and up, there is certainly more to life that "this"...
Posted by: Sphagnum at March 27, 2006 6:34 PMWell, you should update your main page (ravnwood.com) so that these updates go there. I found you via my feed.
Posted by: SayUncle at March 27, 2006 6:46 PMNice to see you stopping back by, even if it's only for an occasional cup of coffee.
Posted by: emdfl at March 28, 2006 8:06 AMGood to hear from you; hope everything is going well.
Posted by: BobG at March 28, 2006 9:23 AMHey, good to see you're back.
Don't worry about posting volume...your loyal readers are looking for quality, not quantity. We'll be stopping by on a regular basis. If you haven't posted something new, we'll move on. If you have, we read (and occasionally) comment. If something piques your interest, it'll probably intrigue your readers as well.
And don't forget that we actually DO appreciate the effort you've put into the blog, even if we're not terribly vocal (vocal? we can't actually talk, but I couldn't figure out what to say, there) about it.
Posted by: Blackwing1 at March 28, 2006 10:39 AMA little something is better than a lot of nothing.
Posted by: CAshane at March 28, 2006 11:32 AMSo I can officially pull you off my "On Indefinite Hiatus" list?
Cool!
Welcome back. We missed you.
Posted by: Kevin Baker at March 28, 2006 1:17 PMGive the good stuff to your girlfriend, throw a bone to us. As the way it should be.
Besides, she will reward you far more then any of us, (although, I've heard Acidman has gotten lucky because of his blog, but let's not go there).
Tip: Recent news says hugs lead to love, get off the computer and go give her a hug.
See ya later?
Haryew Steve
I kept you on the bookmarks just in case you decided to post something; I clicked on it every so often just in case.
Any erudition on your part will be mucho appreciated.
Mike
Nice to see a bit of bloggage here again.
That Bushie SBR show up yet? That's got to be the longest wait for an order, let alone a range report.
FWIW: I think FishOrMan's first sentence has it a bit backwards, but ...
:-)
Glad to hear everything's been going well lately. Glad also that I didn't remove your site from my list of bookmarks.
I understand the depressing nature of politics, especially these days when the Republicans act like Democrats and the Democrats act like Commies. I've been pretty burned-out by it all lately myself, and I haven't been blogging.
Keep doing the occasional posting as long as it's fun for you. Many of us will still be checking back now and then.
As for FishorMan's advice to "Give the good stuff to your girlfriend, throw a bone to us."... I say, keep your mind on what's really important, but keep your bone far away from me...
Posted by: roger at March 30, 2006 12:31 PMWelcome back.
Sorry I missed your return.
Post when you want, I'll be around to read 'em, eventually. ;^)
