Virginia's Democrat Governor and Million Mom Marcher Tim Kaine vetoed a few pro-gun bills that were passed this year. In his defense, Richmond politicos fall prey to Ravenwood's Law:
Del. Dwight Clinton Jones, D-Richmond, who supported the Kaine veto, felt compelled to "stand up for my city" because of Athey's comments. "Richmond is not Dodge City [and] not the OK Corral," Jones told the House.Ironic considering Dodge City and Tombstone both banned guns, while Richmond would like to ban guns but cannot under Virginia's Dillon rule.

Where's Matthew Quigley when you need him?
Posted by: Rimfirejones at April 27, 2006 1:50 PMActually, I have an excellent answer to those who start whining about "The Wild West". I'd like to see the Wild West return.
"Richmond isn't Dodge City". Nope. It's worse.
"You want to bring back the days when everybody carried a gun!" No $#!+.
"Are you trying to turn this city into Tombstone, AZ?" Sure. Tombstone didn't have MS13, and other such fun-n-games.
I'll take the Wild West over DC any day. And I'm really glad that I don't live in DC.
