Last September I set out on a goal to lose weight. My birthday was coming up in a few months and I was feeling old. So I thought it would be neat to try to lose 100 pounds by the following birthday. That gave me just over 14 months.
I didn't do any exercise. I didn't work out. What I did do was eat less. I cut out all sweets, all desserts, and quit drinking during the week. I also ate a lot of popcorn.
A few days ago, that birthday came and went. My 14 months is up, and I've lost 96 pounds.
I think I'm pretty close to my ideal weight now and I actually weigh less than I did in college. I'll keep trying to lose that last 4 pounds, but as of right now, I'm pretty satisfied hitting 96% of my goal. That earns an 'A' in my book.
Who knows, maybe next year I'll try working out and build some muscle tone. (But don't hold your breath.)
Wow! Congrats!

Posted by: SayUncle at December 11, 2008 8:37 AMHow appropriate that your website lost 96% of it's content all the while... Just kidding. Congrats.
Posted by: Mays at December 11, 2008 3:23 PMDude, I have been sooo busy lately. 2008 was a very transformational year for me.
Posted by: Ravenwood at December 11, 2008 3:38 PMHoly Moses! Congrats. What an accomplishment. Here's hoping you can work out a lifestyle that allows you to comfortably keep it off.
