Springfield Police Chief Wiggum once said, "Can't you people take the law into your own hands? I mean, we can't be policing the entire city!"
Fairfax County (VA) has an 'Operation TIPS' style tattletale system, where citizens can report bad drivers to the police. The police then mail out a nasty gram asking the driver to be more courteous of other drivers.
Yesterday I reported three people for driving slow in the fast lane.

When I lived in Falls Church, I used to regularly report my neighbor for failing to stop at the sign at the end of our street and for driving much too fast down our block. In those days you had to call a hotline number. I used to love the reaction I would get from the person taking the call as I gave the description...
"...yeah, it was a predominately white sedan. Late model Ford, I believe. Virginia plates...lights on top."

The people who think that means traffic yields to THEM, not the other way around. Drives me crazy when I'm doing 55 (the speed limit) and someone jerks out in front of me. People who turn VERY slowly, leaving part of their rear end sticking out as they pull off the road. Argh. People who don't understand right-of-way, at all. I could write a book on the stupid things I see drivers do.
